Repeat Prescriptions are only provided for medications that have been previously prescribed by one of our doctors for patients that are seen at Sunset Road Family Doctors regularly.
For most prescriptions you are required to see the doctor every 6 months for a face-to-face check-up. This means that you will usually be able to get a repeat prescription for every second prescription.
Please note: some medications you will not be able to get a repeat prescription without seeing your doctor eg. sleeping tablets, antidepressants, narcotics.
Email Requests:
You can now email your repeat prescription request directly to the nurse at nurse@sunsetrfd.co.nz
Please make sure you email your request before 2pm for your prescription to be available the following afternoon - please allow 48 hours later.
Urgent Requests:
If you need an urgent or same day prescription, please phone the nurse! An additional charge will be incurred.
Long-term Requests:
You can also request repeat scripts of long term medications online through ManageMyHealth™.
Phone Requests:
Please speak slowly and clearly state:
1. Your Name
2. Your date of birth
3. Your file number if known
4. The medications or drugs requested for the Repeat Prescription.
Please be organised with your prescriptions, if you know you will run out in a few days, please be proactive and request your prescription from us. This allows us to action your request in time and have this ready for you. Same day prescriptions can not always be guaranteed.
If you leave a message for a prescription, the nurse will only contact you if there is an issue with the script, you won`t be notified when the script is ready to collect. It will be available to collect 48 hours after your request.
